Welcome to the Western Balkans Investment Frameworks Projects’ website. Here, you will find all the projects supported by the Framework.

WBIF focuses on helping infrastructure development, particularly in the transport, energy, environment and social sectors. Private sector development and energy efficiency have recently been added as areas for support.

At the moment, Spring 2012, there are 112 projects that are, or have been, supported by WBIF. These projects have been helped by WBIF grants totaling €122 million which, in turn, has leveraged loans worth €5.6 billion from International Financial Institutions (IFIs). The full value of the projects' complete development costs is in excess of €10 billion.

The real goal is seeing projects realised.  Projects are now progressing beyond preparation and financing. Tendering for works and construction has started in many countries.  And as they come to fruition the real benefits will be seen: new and improved infrastructure that will help the Western Balkans with increased economic development, improved social wellbeing and greater regional harmony.
